Measuring Inclusion: Making the Invisible Visible

Inclusion is the DNA of organizations, yet measuring it remains a challenge. For years diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics have been based on the number of hires and promotions, training programs, employee or business resource groups, salary audits, and retention data. These metrics reflect diversity and equity; they say nothing about the state of inclusion. The key to measuring an intangible is transforming it into relevant data needed to measure, monitor, and quantify the success of diversity programs.

Julia Geisman presents tangible steps that companies can take to quantify inclusion enabling them to create a relevant and sustainable diversity strategy. The strategy is the first step in being transparent regarding the company’s commitment to diversity which is becoming a requirement for future employees, consumers, and investors.
